This is the only known copy to exist of this game and it is only available from here " Armas Vic 20 Tribute Site " it was forwarded to me by the Co Author Graham Vassie. Cube Bert. Jump from cube to cube changing it to the target colour. But beware the monsters have other ideas and will kill cube man should they catch him. What could be simpler? The controls are Q S ; , or use the joystick. Other Keys F1 Starts new game F7 Pause game (a bit hit and miss) The joystick also works, fire to start a new game and pressing the appropriate diagonals moves Cube Bert off in that direction. Enemies The bouncing balls are present, initially two, then, later in the game, a third ball is added. In place of the snake Coily, there is a strange pulsating cloud, that presumably from the sound effect electrocutes Cube Bert. Later levels have a green faced creature, an approximation of the original Slick and Sam. This creature changes the cubes back to the target colour. The Disks I don't recall other versions of the game for the Vic having the flying disks, but for your gaming pleasure, two disks use them or lose them. The game code, a mixture of basic and machine code was written by a friend of mine Andrew Sinclair. I did the graphics using squared paper and a pencil and a lot of adding up. I also did the sound and music. The tune at the end of the round was 'composed' by me using Type-A-Tune. It took up most of our summer holidays one year in the early 80's - it must have been 82 or 83. We had grand ideas of selling the game and raking it in. Sadly this was not to be. It came close to being sold, one game company would have taken it if we had got it down to +8K, but the summer had gone and we could not find a way of chopping the code down. So, after many attempts to sell it the game, even trying to get it published as a magazine type in, we admitted defeat and Cube Bert never saw the light of day. This is a great pity. Although I am sure there are a few bugs still in the code and as with all things, could be improved, I still feel it is better than many of the Q*Bert clones made for the Vic. As Cube Bert would say, "!#*@!" G. Vassie
